Sport
Want to give your dog more than just walks? Sighthounds can do much more than just running.
Racing
Track racing is a traditional sport of sighthound breeds. Dogs run on an oval track chasing a mechanical lure and reach speeds of up to 70 km/h. It is an adrenaline experience for both dogs and spectators.
Oval Track
Races take place on standardized tracks with a mechanical lure.
Timed Results
Results are measured electronically. The best dogs obtain a racing license.
Titles & Championships
Successful racers can earn the Racing Champion KCHCH title.
Coursing
Coursing simulates hunting in natural terrain. Dogs chase an artificial lure along a pre-prepared course in open landscape. Unlike track racing, the course is unpredictable and tests the intelligence, agility and hunting instinct of the dog.
Natural Terrain
Races take place in meadows and open landscape, not on a track.
Hunting Simulation
The course mimics natural prey behavior with unexpected changes of direction.
Hunting Instinct
Not only speed is evaluated, but also agility, endurance and intelligence.
Other Sports
Sighthounds are versatile athletes. Besides traditional racing and coursing, they can also pursue other disciplines that develop their abilities and strengthen the bond with their owner.
Agility
Overcoming an obstacle course against time. Agility develops obedience, agility and cooperation between dog and handler. Sighthounds, thanks to their speed and elegance, can excel on the course.
Dogfrisbee
A dynamic sport in which the dog catches a flying disc. A combination of speed, jumping and coordination. Sighthounds with their incredible acceleration and ability to change direction are natural talents.
Flyball
A relay race over hurdles with a ball launcher. A team sport that combines speed, jumps and retrieval. A great way to combine training with the joy of play.
